Clubs and Activities

CIS has a number of clubs and activities that provide opportunities for students to participate. Additional programs may become available if there is enough student interest and volunteer leadership. Several after school enrichment programs also are offered through third-party vendors.

Student Council

The Student Council is a group of officers, classroom representatives, committees, and advisors who work together to promote school spirit, make important team decisions, and work on special events and projects for the school community. Student Council representatives are elected in September by their peers.

Student Council’s objectives center on the CIS core values: Respect, Responsibility, Solutions, and Service. Student Council activities include: peer tutoring, raising funds and awareness for service activities, assisting with school-wide events, serving as guides for Open House and international visitors, and organizing Spirit Week.

The CIS chapter was established in 2015 and emphasizes excellence that we represent for our school and community. Throughout the year, members of our chapter serve as role models for other students. Students who are accepted into NHS must demonstrate the four qualities that serve as standards for the Society: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
