Carolina International School is a K - 12 public charter school and is accepting applications for the 2024/2025 school year. We encourage prospective families to learn more about our school and the application process using this website and visiting CIS during school hours.

Academics

The CIS curriculum includes the study of English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, international and environmental studies, the visual and performing arts, computer technology, healthful living/physical education, and Spanish. Reading, Writing, and Math Labs devote special attention to these fundamental skills.
Athletics
Athletics

CIS offers interscholastic athletics for middle and high school students. Our High School athletic teams compete as independent members of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and are subject to all rules and regulations set forth by the association. Our Middle School teams participate as a member of the Carolina Beltway Conference along with other charter and private schools.
Fine Arts
Fine Arts

CIS has a number of clubs and activities that provide opportunities for students to participate. Additional programs may become available if there is enough student interest and volunteer leadership.
Parents
Parents

At Carolina International School we offer parent and family involvement in a variety of ways including parent committees of the PTSO, which is the parent organization that supports the school, and participation on our Board of Directors or one of its sub-committees. Parents are also encouraged to volunteer at the school through school events, field trips, and support of our athletics and arts programs.
School Health
At CIS we believe the health of our scholars plays a vital role in their ability to learn to their fullest potential. With a full-time Registered Nurse on campus, we meet the daily needs of our students for chronic and acute health concerns. Additionally, we are able to accurately maintain vaccine records, host dental and vaccination clinics, and support our staff with occupational health needs.
